a long-legged black cat with short, curly fur and green eyes.
- IT'S ALL TOO MUCH. -
when it comes to apprentices, usually they're all about boasting about their accomplishments. if you talk to your average apprentice, every word is about their hunting skills or their battle prowess. swiftpaw downplays their skills -- they don't like to talk about their own accomplishments, even going so far as to make criticism towards themself. they're a gentle cat -- being overly careful with their prey so as not to cause intense pain, and spending most of their day with the elders and the queens grooming or having fun. their soft paws mean they're more delicate than most -- almost made for medicine instead of warrior duties.
swiftpaw is generally a good cat -- they make every choice for the good of the cats around them and the cats in their clan in general. if it's not a good idea, or something that would hurt another cat, generally they won't do it. they're also an uncomplaining young cat, another trait surprising for apprentices. they go about their duties exactly as assigned with not a single complaint to be had.
the young cat is overly emotional as well, letting their emotions heavily dictate the things that they do. it's gotten to the point where it's almost an issue, which is worrying for their parents. they're also increasingly self-conscious of themselves and their actions, reacting badly when they think someone may even be barely disapproving of them. this manifests itself in an almost self-deprecating form of humor if you ever actually get them to make jokes. swiftpaw is also reserved almost to a fault -- they barely talk to the other apprentices and prefer to spend their time with the oldest and youngest in the clan.
swiftpaw is also a very anxious cat -- a level of anxiety where their parents originally believed it would go away as they aged, but instead it only seems to grow worse. little things that started as kit fears would become more like paranoia for the cat, things that they would be more and more scared about. part of this is why they listen so readily to adult cats, trusting them to make the decisions to keep them safe. due to this, they tend to be easily manipulated, whether for better or worse. they're also easily spooked by loud noises or unexpected appearances, something they're a little bit insecure about.
- SAID IT'S ALL TOO MUCH. -
swiftkit's parents were your usual couple. while their father was older than most of the toms in the clan, it seemed that his mother didn't care -- mousedash was a tiny she-cat with short, curly fur, the type of fur two of her children inherited from her. in contrast, her mate, nightstrike, was a tall, leggy tom with dark striped fur and a bobbed tail that his daughter got. they were attentive parents, though they pushed swiftkit to try and be more social than most due to worry that they might avoid social interactions.
they weren't exactly wrong. swiftkit preferred to keep to their parents and siblings while still in the nursery, something that didn't really change once they were apprenticed, except to add their mentor to the number of cats they spend a lot of time with. otherwise, they spend their time in the nursery helping the queens or in the elders' den helping the oldest members of the clan. while they want to be a good warrior, they don't exactly have the best disposition for it. but hell -- they're trying.
- AND IF THE WORLD BREAKS YOUR LEGS -
mousedash :: mother.
nightstrike :: father.
cloudpaw :: sister.
dustpaw :: brother.
