PERSONALITY
Orchidfrost is a very shy, quiet, and reclusive she-cat. She very rarely talks without reason, and even then, usually resorts to giving simple gestures like a nod or a shake of her head. She has a tendency to avoid other cats, as she is easily intimidated by social situations. Due to this she's rather awkward and may stumble on her words. However, if you have the patience to stick with her, she will slowly begin to open up to you. To those close to her, she is a kind, generous, selfless and positively determined individual. She would give her life for her friends and clanmates in a heartbeat, no questions asked. She's rather stubborn, and it's very difficult to change her mind once she's set on something.
HISTORY
ORCHIDKIT | Little Orchidkit was born in mid Leaf-bare, alongside her little sister Cinderkit. For the first moon or so, their parents were afraid the two wouldn't survive through the cold season, especially poor Orchidkit. She was definitely the weaker and smaller of the two, and it seemed like she wouldn't make it. However, miraculously, the two sisters managed to persevere. As they grew older, they slowly got stronger and healthier. Even as a kit, Orchidkit was very shy and reserved, and never went anywhere without her sister by her side. She would often shadow Cinderkit, who was the more outgoing of the two, and Orchidkit often had a hard time conversing with other kits. Even so, Cinderkit and Orchidkit were as close as siblings could be, and they would talk and talk and talk. As the day of their apprentice ceremony approached, the two began to grow excited. They would often take guesses as to who their mentors would be.
ORCHIDPAW | And so, the day finally was upon them. It was a very early Newleaf day, still quite chilly but the sun was shining. Orchidpaw's mentor was a molly named Berryrunner. She was quite slender, much like Orchidpaw herself, and so she felt a sense of kinship with the older molly. Berryrunner was a very soft-spoken and patient molly, though she had no problems in putting her paw down when she needed to. Thankfully, it never really came to it; Orchidpaw was a very obedient and attentive apprentice. Unlike her sister Cinderpaw, who tended to have a much shorter attention span and ended up being quite the pawful. Regardless, the two would often train together and go on patrols together. But it was during this time where Orchidpaw was attempting to distance herself from her sister somewhat, and try and be more independent. She still felt quite intimidated by social situations, but she was slowly beginning to come out of her shell, thanks to Berryrunner.
However, things soon began to take a turn for the worse. Cinderpaw and her mentor went out on a patrol, while Orchidpaw went to battle training with Berryrunner. She wasn't terribly strong, but she was learning to use her speed and agility to her advantage. To her surprise, Orchidpaw found she quite enjoyed it. After the session was over, Orchidpaw and her mentor returned to camp, and Cinderpaw soon returned as well. However, she looked rather tired, and she was sniffling. When confronted about it, however, Cinderpaw quickly shook it off and assured she was fine. "Just feeling a little under the weather, is all!" She mewed with a cheerful smile. But Orchidpaw worried anyway. Orchidpaw kept a close eye on her sister for the next several days; and sure enough, Cinderpaw seemed to be catching something. She pressured Cinderpaw to go to the medicine den, but the other molly was stubborn and didn't want to miss out on any training. But she was pushing herself too far; Cinderpaw ended up fainting after a particularly difficult training session, and Orchidpaw was quick to take her to the medicine den.
Despite the medicine cat's best efforts, Cinderpaw slowly grew worse and worse. She was growing more and more lethargic and weary, and it soon got to a point where she couldn't even move anymore. Orchidpaw was right by the young molly's side during her last final days. And then, Cinderpaw's eyes closed, and she drifted off, never to wake again. Her face was peaceful; she almost seemed to be sleeping. But the eerie stillness and the warmth draining from her body told them otherwise. Orchidpaw was completely devastated by the loss, and whatever progress she had made socially was tossed away. She grew even more reclusive and silent, and for a few days even holed herself up in the apprentice den as she grieved. Berryrunner was able to get her to continue her training, but Orchidpaw was stoically silent the entire time. Whenever she was in camp she was like a ghost; lingering in the corner, keeping to herself and avoiding interacting with her clanmates.
ORCHIDFROST | Even so, she still managed to complete her training. She earned the name Orchidfrost, but while it should have been a day of joy, Orchidfrost felt hollow. Cinderpaw should have been by her side. They should have earned their names together. Why was life so cruel? Her vigil that night was fairly uneventful. She sat there, in complete silence, her mind whirling with the what-ifs. But as the moons have passed, Orchidfrost has been slowly getting over the grief of losing her sister. She is still very shy, and often has trouble conversing with other cats. But with an incredible amount of patience, perhaps it's not impossible to help her come out of her shell once more.
