Silverflame grumbled to himself as he sorted through his herbs, nosing them and separating them into small piles. It had only been a few moons since his mentor, Pikeleaf, had passed away. In all honesty, he still felt like he hadn't quite gotten over it. She was one of the few cats he had genuinely respected and enjoyed the company of... And now she was gone forever. It left a hollow feeling in his chest. Occasionally he would turn and begin to ask her for advice, only to remember she was no longer there. Just thinking about it made his tail lash, and the medicine cat stood up with a small huff.

The silver tom had been surprised to be assigned an apprentice so soon after Pikeleaf's passing. He wasn't really complaining, but... He's starting to think he may have been a bit too hard on them when first starting their training due to his grief. He admired their persistence, and their gentleness, though. And they seemed to be very capable so far. Of course, that didn't mean he was going to go easy on Hazelpaw. Speaking of which... He glanced around, but didn't see the younger cat in the den. Seems they'd exited while he'd been busy. Well, that was alright, he supposed. Silverflame gave a small stretch, grunting quietly and rapidly shook his head. Perhaps some fresh air would help clear his head.

Silverflame trotted out of the medicine den, lifting his head and examining the camp. It was quiet, not that it was a bad thing. The tom enjoyed his peace and quiet. He stretched his jaws in a small yawn, his ears twitching slightly. After a few moments he slowly sat down and wrapped his tail around his paws, lowering his head to groom his chest fur. It sure was a nice day today...
