hawkflight, warrior

it was a bit of a surprise that hawkflight actually passed his apprentice assessment as well as he did. hawkflight is the very definition of carefree -- he spends most of his days in the brighest attitude possibly, often times grinning at what seems to be nothing. he doesn't really appreciate the formality of the warrior code, though he'll follow it just for the pure and simple fact that getting in trouble is way too much of a bother. he's extremely nihilistic in the sense that he doesn't really care what happens to him or those around him, as he's here for a good time, not a long time.

one of his best qualities as a warrior, though, especially in fights is his spontaneity, keeping all the other cats around him on their toes at all times. there's no telling which move he might take next, which direction his paws will take him. it makes him dangerous to enemies, and a little bit of a liability to allies, but it also makes him an incredible cat to have on your team.

hawkflight is a good warrior, when it comes to skills, and he's painfully aware of this fact. he's a cocky cat who enjoys bragging about his skills loudly and proudly, and will talk about himself very often if given the chance. it's not entirely uncommon to see this cat carrying on full conversations with himself, much to the chagrin of the cats around him. he's a ferocious fighter when it comes to taking care of those he cares about, and an incredibly agile and fast mover when it comes to fights and climbing through the branches that make up their territory.

leisurely & apathetic & easily bored. despite his bright and cocky personality, it's incredibly hard to keep hawkflight interested in things he doesn't care about -- which unfortunately is most of the things that go on in the clan every day. he's apathetic about most issues, really only caring about what makes him popular or what happens to be the most fun at the time. he takes everything at his pace, not caring about how others want him to get it done, and if he decides he's done with something? it's incredibly difficult to get him started again. when he gets bored, he's done, and when he's done, good luck getting him into it again.

single parents aren't as common in clan cats, hawkflight would come to learn. he didn't realize how bizarre it was that his father essentially raised him alone until he was five moons old, didn't realize how bizarre it was that his other parent was never in the picture. his father, a loner named bird, had named him hawk for the large birds that soared overheard the dens they made within the ferns of the forest.

but bird wanted a better life for hawk. a life that he could take and make his own, a life where he could succeed and better himself. and so he made the journey to branchclan's camp, hawk hot on his heels, and asked if his son could join the clan. thankfully, he was let in -- though of course with plenty of training to be had. his name was changed to hawk-kit, though it was soon to become hawkpaw when he became six moons old.

by the time he became an apprentice, there was another apprentice in the camp -- one two moons older than him, a gorgeous white she-cat named harepaw. they became fast friends, often attempting to outshine each other with their training. hawkpaw was an excellent apprentice -- and it didn't surprise anyone within the camp when he passed his exam, even if he liked to act like he was the laziest cat around while he was in the camp itself.

as a young warrior, hawkflight met forestfire, a self-named rogue occupying a stretch of territory just outside their clan's territory. he was curious, and they began an.. interesting relationship where hawkflight goes and visits and speaks to him, though he wouldn't quite call him friends the way he'd call flamepelt and harebounce. for the most part, those are the cats he spends time around, much to flamepelt's chagrin.

now that he's firmly established as a warrior, he's had his apprentice for just two moons now -- and he already thinks darkpaw is going to be one of the best warriors in the clan, if only hawkflight can take his potential and shape it into something incredible.

FORESTFIRE :: a rogue, covered in burn scars. hawkflight isn't aware of his life before he got hurt, having not known him back then, but clearly he once belonged to a clan. the group he's with, though.. they rub hawkflight the wrong way, and he's not sure if he wants to continue the relationship, as tense as it is, for much longer.

BIRD :: hawkflight's dad. he had a fling with a random cat and got left with a single kit, who he ended up bringing to branchclan to ask if the kit could join. hawkflight still visits with his father from time to time, but his father hates the style of clan life, and wouldn't join the clan even if it were to save his life.

FLAMEPELT :: one of the senior warriors in camp. while he didn't train hawkflight directly, he's hawkflight's favorite warrior to bother in the camp.

HAREBOUNCE :: a cat that hawkflight trained alongside. she's one of his closest friends, with their nests being quite close together in the warriors den.

DARKPAW :: hawkflight's apprentice. he specifically requested to train him, having seen a large amount of potential within the dark young tom.
