stormkit and her sister littlekit were born amongst grief and loss. her family was supposed to be large and full of love, and would have been had the time of her birth not gone horribly wrong. her parents, a trio of cats, had been prepared for her mother storm's pregnancy and upcoming birth, but the day came too soon. all three were there, storm struggling while snowtiger and hemlock looked on anxiously, watching as their mate struggled in a battle that she eventually lost.
stormkit never met the mother she was named for, nor did she have the chance to meet two of her brothers who were born without breathing.
she is too young to remember the grief and rage that set her remaining parents against each other, hemlock blaming snowtiger for the pregnancy while snowtiger responded with violent self-defense that went too far too fast, resulting in hemlock's death. and so he was left alone with stormkit and her small sister, taking them back to the clan to raise them on his own.
stormkit is her mother's daughter, identical with her gray and black fluffy fur, and has begun to show that the resemblance is more than on the surface. she has her mother's gentle and sincere personality, considerate with everything she says and while she has much of a usual kitten's energy, she has a calmness about her that has started to stand out in contrast to her sister.
she is empathetic, attentive towards others emotions and feelings, though as a kit, she is a bit clumsy both physically and emotionally. as she grows, though, she will certainly develop this trait more. she is also growing to be quite graceful, though again, her stubby kitten legs have their fair share of stumbles and awkwardness. she will certainly grow into a beautiful she-cat, though.
while sweet, she is an independent young cat, often preferring to do what she wants and disliking being told what to do or where to be. she has quite a few exploratory debates with her father regarding his amount of attention, but she is careful of his feelings and never pushes too hard. while she doesn't understand it, she knows she should be careful with him.
she is not completely without her father's blood. she has a bit of his temper and fierceness, and while she will never match his ruthless nature, she certainly won't let others walk all over her. she gets mad over other's treatment of those she cares about if it is less than ideal (primarily littlekit and snowtiger) and can be a little overprotective regarding their feelings and the way they are viewed within the clan.
