Brometail was so, so excited that leaf-bare was almost over! He could smell newleaf right on the horizon, and a nice warm spell was exactly what he needed to get a spring in his step! He was awake early today, and allowed the warm breeze to ruffle his fur and whisk him away towards the scents of prey or herbs, or anything else interesting the wind brought to his snout. The happy-go-lucky tom was content to just run, disappearing from camp before anyone was likely to come calling on him for patrols. He loved MeadowClan's open spaces, loved the flowers and the open skies, and he just let his paws carry him and the scents lead him.

He stopped his jaunt when he felt the first hint of tiredness, so he could build up his energy for the run back. His speed and running stamina were definitely Brometail's greatest strengths. He could outrun any cat or tire out any prey - but the best runs were the ones he did for fun, just to feel the wind and the sun and the grass beneath his paws. Days like this were perfect!

As he settled in the grass to bathe in the sun, purring as he breathed in the scents of the meadow. A particularly sweet fragrance caught his attention, wafting off of a patch of small blue flowers. He crawled over to them, opening his mouth to take in their lovely aroma, breathing in the scent, and -

BZZT! In came a bee, right into the warrior's open mouth. It stung him before he'd even realized what he'd nearly swallowed. In shock from the pain, Brometail let out a loud yowl and bolted, making a beeline back to camp at a speed that even he would find impressive. He all but skidded into camp, and nearly knocked over a cat as he entered.

Whimpering, he tried to apologize, though it was hard to get any words out of his swollen muzzle.

When he realized it was Gophergaze, he whined again and gestured towards his horribly puffy maw, looking up at her with pleading eyes.

Brometail didn't resist as Gophergaze nudged him in the direction of her den, even taking the initiative to put one paw in front of the other towards the medicine den of his own volition once she shook him back to what little senses he had.

"Inn mah mouf," he managed to say over the sore, swollen muzzle, failing to suppress the whimper that accompanied it. He tried to close his mouth correctly, but couldn't; instead, his tongue lolled out to the side.

He was really a ridiculous sight. The usually somewhat handsome tom was scrunched up in the medicine den, his fluffy fur all messed up from his frenzied run to camp and covered in burrs, his mouth swollen and puffy, and his tongue flopping out of his mouth.

He looked at Gophergaze with pleading eyes, wanting to ask her if she could help him, but not able to form many words without pain. Instead, he let himself sink to an undignified pile of fur on the floor of her den, front paws sprawled out in front of him as he tried to catch his breath.
