Unshakable and unrelenting in his duties, Paleboulder is a common sight guarding CavernClan’s intricate cave systems. He volunteers for the task frequently; sacrificing his ability to see as well as the rest of his clanmates in the darkest depths of their cavernous home for the honor and privilege of ensuring the safety of those who dwell within. He’s often been described as behaving as either a stern older brother figure or a strict uncle to his clanmates—a nature that is either appreciated on some level for its stability or despised for its inflexibility. While he isn’t known to be much of a talker, Paleboulder doesn’t shy away from companionship whenever it is offered to him, though it’s quite clear that he prefers to be on the listening end of conversations and offers up his own thoughts only after some amount of probing.
It’s difficult to tell what’s going on inside of Paleboulder’s head at any given moment; he usually wears the same sort of impassive, almost patient looking stare no matter who he’s interacting with or what he’s doing… with the exception of defending his clanmates. In the event of a skirmish with outsiders or the assault of a predator, Paleboulder becomes loud and vicious, as though all of his silence was simply a charge for that moment of ear piercing yowls and shrieks as the tom cat sends himself flying at whatever threat has targeted his clanmates. On a deeper level, Paleboulder can be noted as being possessive and nosy; he often finds some sort of way to shoulder his way into the affairs of those that he has become close with—whether by mere proximity to them or by small, unrelenting questions and gestures. He doesn’t seem to understand that this sort of behavior can be quite pushy to other cats.
